Russian military and government employees are not allowed to accept foreign awards without Putin’s permission

Vladimir Putin signed the decree, stating that certain categories of government employees and military officers are allowed to accept foreign awards and titles only with prior permission of the President. The document was published on the Official web portal of legal information.

Regulations on the procedure for accepting foreign awards and decorations (other than sport and scientific ones) states that the permission must be obtained by any person holding a public office, which is appointed by the Russian president, and military and customs officers.
